BIOMASS
Energy through biomass is to use organic matter as an energy source. This organic matter can be from agricultural waste (olive pits, dried fruit shells, remains of vine pruning) to wood remains, such as pellets or sawdust. It is a type of cheaper, renewable energy production with fewer emissions due to its combustion method.
How does it work?
The process
Boilers are used where the material burns little by little. The resulting heat heats the water, which provides us with heating and hot water. This burning also generates ashes that can be used later as compost. Its main applications are to generate thermal energy and, at an industrial level, electrical energy, although the latter is a more complex process.
